Loren Pleet is not a top brand name, famous person, model, politician, actor, nor many other things. Who is Loren Pleet and why does this website exist? I, Loren Pleet, was inspired by the book “Radically Transparent” written by Andy Beal and Dr. Judy Strauss. The subtitle “Monitoring and Managing Reputations Online” sums up the very well written contents of this excellent book. Upon searching in Google for my name “Loren Pleet” I found interesting results, ranging from press releases at companies that I used to work for to images of me at social events from over 10 years ago.
I was not concerned about persons searching for Loren Pleet in Google and finding negative things about me. However I thought it would be best to create a website that consolidated information about me and follow the concept of becoming radically transparent. Although I think radically transparent may require the use of a 24 hour webcam which I am unwilling to do. Instead of searching in Google and finding tidbits of my life, career, and social activities, I created the Loren Pleet website.
In addition to having a website that captures my life history I also wanted a vehicle of personal expression. Although it would be fantastic for me, Loren Pleet, to become President of the U.S.A, and be able to express myself to the world as a politician, that is not going to happen. Instead, thanks to the power of the Internet, through this website I can become visible and connect to hundreds of millions of people around the world. My childhood hobby was Amateur Radio and now I have a new mode of communications that offers similarities. One attractive aspect of Amateur Radio was worldwide communications and this is also possible with the Internet.
